don't worry. i'm safe.

so we finally arrived in hong kong
after over 24 hours of flying & airporting.
while we were in hong kong,
we visited the world's largest outdoor, sitting buddha,
explored the city streets,
took pictures outside the hong kong lds temple,
& took a boat ride in aberdeen harbor.
hong kong was not as "city like" as i expected.
the lasor light show was not as cool as everybody talks it up to be.
however, i still loved it.
hong kong was a good transition into china because
it's very westernized.
so upon arrival to xioalan, zhongshan, china
we weren't as shell shocked.
xiaolan is a pretty area.
we have been out to eat twice,
& both times i have loved the food.
i have a feeling that i might gain weight.
good thing i brought trusty p90x with me, right?
i'm basically a professional chopsticker now.
several of my girls get really upset at meal time because they only use
chopsticks,
& they can't quite get the knack of them yet.
the school is always extremely hot.
they don't use air conditioning in the school.
they use fans.
so we're getting used to having a pool of sweat down our backs.
we live in apartments 4 floors above our class rooms,
which luckily have air conditioning.
our bathroom is very interesting.
you walk in, shut the door, and that is your shower.
there is no designated shower area.
the whole bathroom is yours to rinse and detangle.
you could even moisturize while you sit on the toilet.
how convenient is that?
well, today we had our first day.
it was hectic, to say the least.
the childern are adorable.
all 50 of them.
yes, i said 50.
6 teachers vs 50 students.
it gets crazy, but they'll be able to do it.
